2,386 IPR Cases Dealt by Culture Administrations in the Third Quarter

It is reported by the Chinese Ministry of Culture that culture administrations along with its
enforcement organs nationwide handled 2,386 cases of infringing intellectual property and imposed
a fine of over 20 million CNY in the third quarter of 2008 with a view to contribute to the safe
Olympic Games.
The administrations seized 770,000 CNY in illegal proceeds, imposed 21.26 million CNY in fines,
suspended operation of 1,780 establishments, stripped licenses of 413 establishments, and handed
103 cases and 263 persons to police or prosecution authorities.
